I rarely review products but I often read the reviews before buying something. I like this company and what they are doing, so here it goes.

I have been using the same gel based deodorant (not antiperspirant) for the last 30 years. I wanted to try something new and was looking for a deodorant that was made with simple and recognizable ingredients. I tried the original formula with scents Rosemary & Mint and Rockrose & Cedar. I loved the smell of both but had a pretty severe reaction, which I believe was caused by the baking soda. I with those scents were available in the Vegan collection, which is made without baking soda.

After having the skin reaction, I tried the Vegan Mountain Lavender and the Vegan Patchouli & Copal. I think they both smell very good. At first I liked the smell of the Mountain Lavender more but now I am partial to the Patchouli & Copal. I switch it up between the two and enjoy the smell of those essential oils more than the scent from my old brand.

Now for the negative aspect. The gel based deodorant is easy to apply and never once created a clump in my armpit hair. Both the Mountain Lavender and the Patchouli & Copal have clumped together in my armpit hair. When I apply the deodorant, I only do three swipes on each armpit and I only put a little pressure so the layer is thin. Unfortunately, I found that I needed to refresh with an additional application after about 6 to 8 hours. Probably my body and not the product. With the gel based stuff I have…

Love this deodorant. It works and doesn't irritate my skin like the other ones do. I have been using the plastic free lavender scent and just didn't love the smell. I have tried a few different scents and this is my favorite, but was disappointed that the Patchouli & Copal sensitive skin doesn't come in plastic free as I've been trying to go as plastic free as possible. Because I don't wear and perfumes, and really wanting to have a scent I love, I caved and bought this one in plastic. I LOVE the smell. The gentle scent lasts all day, but is not overpowering at all. I also find the shape of the plastic container easier to apply to my underarms, though this would not be a reason for me to stick with the plastic if the Patchouli & Copal Sensitive Skin came in plastic free.
