What is 1% for the Planet?

As a brand, we strongly believe in helping one another and our planet. Supporting environmental work and humanitarian efforts is a pillar of our business plan and close to our hearts. One of our entry points into this environmentally-based service was becoming a 1% for the Planet business member.

Q: What is 1% for the Planet?

A: 1% for the planet is a global movement. It inspires businesses and individuals to support environmental solutions through annual memberships and everyday actions. The international organization supports its members by advising on giving strategies, certifying reputable giving, and amplifying the impact of their network.

Q: How big is 1% FTP?

A: Today, 1% for the Planet is a growing, global network of more than 3,419 businesses, and an expanding community of individual members supporting thousands of nonprofit partners in more than 64 countries.

Q: How does the 1% model work?

A: 1% for the Planet member businesses give at least 1% of their annual sales directly to approved and vetted environmental nonprofits. Business members can support approved environmental nonprofits by donating the equivalent of 1% of sales through a combination of monetary, in-kind, and approved promotional expenses.

Q: How is Humble Brands involved with 1% FTP?

A: Our founder and CEO, Jeff Shardell, feels strongly about giving back. Upon founding Humble Brands, he felt it was imperative to support our local and global communities. We feel our efforts can make the greatest impact by giving to causes that create synergy and are directly affecting change. Through our 1% commitment, we have partnered with: charity: water, Black Outside Inc., and Conscious Alliance.
